Who we are
Large Dog Lab publishes buying guides and care articles for owners of large and
giant breed dogs. Our website address is https://largedoglab.com.
Affiliate links
Large Dog Lab is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an
affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn
advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate
we earn from qualifying purchases.
This means some links to products on this site are affiliate links. If you click
one and buy something, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to
you. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not change which
products we recommend. When you click an affiliate link you leave this site and
Amazon’s own privacy policy and terms apply to everything you do there.
What we collect
Comments
When you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the comment form,
plus your IP address and browser user-agent string, which help with spam detection.
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can
be recognised and approved automatically rather than held in a queue.
Server logs
Like virtually all websites, our host records standard access logs — IP address,
browser type, pages requested and timestamps — which are used to operate and secure
the site.
What we do not collect
We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, conversion tags, heatmaps or
any third-party visitor-tracking script on this site. We do not build advertising
profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Cookies
If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email address and
website in cookies, so you do not have to fill the form in again. These last one
year. If you have an account and log in, temporary and session cookies are set by
WordPress; these are discarded when you close the browser or log out. Our host may
also set a cookie related to page caching.
Content and links from other sites
Articles on this site display product images served by Amazon and link out to
Amazon product pages. Embedded or externally served content behaves as if you had
visited that site directly, and those sites may collect data, use cookies and track
your interaction with that content under their own policies.
Our pages also include verification meta tags for Pinterest and Bing Webmaster
Tools. These are static text tags that prove we own the domain; they do not track
visitors.
Search engines and Pinterest
We use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to see which search queries
bring people here. These report aggregate, anonymised data to us — not information
about individual visitors. We also publish to Pinterest; if you interact with our
Pins, that happens on Pinterest under Pinterest’s privacy policy, not ours.
Who we share data with
We do not share your personal information with third parties. Comment information
may be checked against an automated spam detection service. Visitor comments and
the site itself are stored on our web host’s servers.
Your rights
If you have left comments on this site, you can request an exported file of the
personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it. This does not include data
we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. To make a
request, contact us at the address below.
Medical and product disclaimer
Articles on this site are informational and are not veterinary advice. Content
about health conditions is intended to help you have a better conversation with your
veterinarian, not to replace one. Always consult a qualified veterinarian about your
dog’s health. Product specifications and prices change frequently; confirm current
details on the retailer’s page before buying.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request to access or delete the data we hold
about you: please use our contact form. We deliberately
do not publish an email address here — a privacy policy is a permanently public page
and published addresses are scraped relentlessly.
When you submit that form we receive your name, email address and message, and the
submission is stored by this website. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not
add you to any mailing list.
